‘About the Future’ is the lovely and arresting first release by ‘Apples’ - an often-changing group fronted by West Coast musician and songwriter, Jessica Rampling.
The album was recorded and mixed by Colin Stewart (Ladyhawk, Black Mountain, Destroyer), and features sensitive, and raucous performances by Brandon Hoffman (Blocktreat), Malcolm Jack (Dada Plan), Daniel Ruiz (Leisure Club), and long-time collaborator Elizabeth Reed. It contains observations collected from the natural world, hopeful messages to friends, and transmissions to a possible future.
